9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (16:00) hrs MST today, due to the convergence of warm air from the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and cold air from the China high pressure system, the western disturbances and eastern disturbances, rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan States and isolated in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States during 24-2-2025 to 27-2-2025.
