Very Severe Cyclonic Storm
According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about (295) miles East of Chennai(India), (310)miles Southeast of Machilipatnam and (305)miles South-Southeast of Vishakhapatnam. It is forecast to move Northwestwards.
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.

Under the influence of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI", rain will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Thaintharyi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in some areas within next (72)hours commencing tonight.
Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10-12) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
