Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”
According to the observations at (09:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”over the Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and centered at about (485) Nautical miles Northwest of Pathein, about (315) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), about (20) Nautical miles East-Northeast of Dhamra and about (45) Nautical miles Southeast of Digha (India). It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm“YAAS” is coded yellow stage.

Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State during next (48)hrs commencing today morning.
Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -17)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (9-13)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
