Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”

            According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” over the Northwest Bay of Bengal is crossing near near South of Balasore, North India Coast

           The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” is located at Latitude (21.3) degree North and Longitude (86.95) degree East, centre pressure of Very Severe Cyclonic Storm is (980) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (80) miles per hour at (13:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24 ) hrs Forecast

            The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” is likely to move North-Northwestwards and forecast to weaken gradually as a land depression.

General caution

           Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State during next (48)hrs commencing noon today.

          Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -15)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (8-12)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

          Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and lightning and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
