Late Monsoon Period Forecast

Late Monsoon period is a period starting from 1st September to the date of Monsoon withdrawal from the Whole Country.

Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon

Southwest monsoon is likely to withdrawal from:

  1. Northern Myanmar areas during (13-18) of September
  2. Central Myanmar areas during (19-24) of September
  3. Deltaic areas during (25-30) of September
  4. The Whole country during (1-6) of October

Bay of Bengal condition

Three Low Pressure Areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. Monsoon will be weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall condition

Rain or thundershowers will be expected about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
