Well Marked Low Pressure Area Condition

Issued at (19:00) hours M.S.T on 19-3-2022

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to move Northwards near Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and Coco-Island, intensify into a Depression during next (18)hrs and Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea into a Cyclonic Storm during next (42) hrs. It may intensify into a depression, thereafter it is lead to near Coco Island, Myanmar on (20.3.2022), lead to near Hainggyikyun, Ayeyarwady Region on (21.3.2022) and reach to Rakhine coast on (22.3.2022).

General caution

Due to the well marked low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with regionally and isolated heavy falls in some Regions and States during this evening to (22.3.2022). Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Due to the well marked low pressure area, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
