9-5-2024  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Well Marked Low Pressure Area Condition

Issued at (11:00) hours M.S.T on 7-5-2022

According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea.It is likely to move Northwestwards. It is intensify into a Depression in this evening and into a Cyclonic Storm in the evening of (8.5.2022). It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra­-PradeshOdisha coasts, India) around (10.5.2022). 

General caution

Due to the well marked low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States during (7.5.2022) to (10.5.2022) with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States.Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.

Due to the well marked low pressure area, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.
