Well Marked Low Pressure Area Condition

Issued at (18:00) hours M.S.T on 9-5-2023

According to the observations at (16:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northeast Bay of Bengal further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area.

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach about (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts from today evening to (11.6.2023).

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States with strong wind from today evening to (11.6.2023).

Advisory

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
