9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (00:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well MarkedLow Pressure Area over the Northeast Bay of Bengal still persists.

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along RakhineCoasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach about (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts from this morning to (11.6.2023).

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States with strong wind from this morning to (11.6.2023).

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
