Well Marked Low Pressure Area

According to the observations at (08:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Andaman Sea (Gulf of Martaban) has intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Andaman Sea (off Gulf of Martaban).

During next (24) hrs forecast

The Well Marked Low Pressure Area is likely to move Northeast wards and towards Myanmar near Mawlamyine, Mon State during next (24) hours. The maximum wind speed of the well marked low pressure may reach (30) mph.

General caution

Due to the well marked low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls from today morning to (21.5.2022). Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

Due to the well marked low pressure area, people should be aware strong wind with regionally heavyfalls and isolated heavyfalls and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
