24-2-2026 According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northweatwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move West-Northwest during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal almost stationary and it is centered at about (745) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island, (860) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (70) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and (230) Nautical miles Southeast of Karaikal(India).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Position of Depression, center pressure and wind

            The Depression is located at Latitude (8.0) degree North and Longitude (82.3) degree East, centre pressure of Depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30) miles per hour at (12:30)hrs MST today.

During next (18) hrs forecast

 It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and cross Siri Lanka coasts at tonight.
