2-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 80 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to recurve slowly Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Depression during next 12 hrs.Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing  Region and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Magway Region and isolated heavyfall in Yangon Region, Rakhine and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyeikmayaw (3.70)inches, Sinbyugyun (3.31)inches, Taungkok and Okkan (3.15)inches each, Hlegu (2.95)inches, Machanbaw (2.83)inches, Sittwe and Dawei (2.80)inches each, Shwekyin, Nyaunglaybin and Phyarpon (2.28)inches each, Maungdaw (2.16)inches, Madauk and Chaungsone (2.05)inches each, Paing Kyone (2.01)inches  and Mawlamyine (1.97)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along  Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 – 9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
