 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha Coasts, India during next 36 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Condition of Depression

            According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and reached over Central Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (365)miles East-Southeast of Machillipatnam, (325)miles South- Southeast of Gopalpur (India) and forecast to move North-Northwestwards and likely to further intensify during next (24)hours. 

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (14.4)degree North and Longitude (87.4)degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1004)hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30) miles per hour at (06:30) hrs MST today.

 Next (24)hours Forecast

            (a)       It is forecast to move North-Northwestwards and may reach North Andhra  Pradesh and South Odisha Coasts (India).

            (b)       Under the influence  of depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly  widespread  in   Sagaing,  Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, isolated in the remaining Regions and States.

           (c)       Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface  wind  speed in squlls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave  height will be about (8-12)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and Rakhine Coasts, (6-10) feet in Mon-Tanintharyi Coasts.

Advisory

Advisory for people, untimely rainfall and strong winds may occur during this time. Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to notice  in condition of the depression.
