Depression

According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area  over Eastcentral Bay of Bengalhas intensified into a depression. It is centered at about (115) Nautical miles Southwest of Sittwe, (195) Nautical miles West-Northwest ofGwa, (235) Nautical miles Northwest of Hainggyigyun(Myanmar) and(290) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip(India),

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, center pressure and wind

Depression is located at Latitude (18.8) degree North and Longitude (91.5) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (998) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (40) miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

During next (48) hrs Forecast

            The depression likely to move West-Northwestwards and cross OdishaCoast(India).

General caution

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,TaninthayiRegions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with regionally heavyfalls to isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,TaninthayiRegions andChin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States during next (48)hrscomancingtoday evening. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Due to the depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and lightning and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
