BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine and Northern Shan States fairly widespread in and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Magway,Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Rakhine States.
