BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts, India). It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify into a depression during next 24 hours and cross South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts on 19-8-2025. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong Monsoon.
