SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Kachin, Kayin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.29 inches in Machanbaw, 2.80 inches in Bago, 2.41 inches in Paung, 1.81 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 1.78 inches in Ingabu, 1.61 inches in Myanaung, 1.55 inches in Panglong, 1.50 inches in Bogale, 1.38 inches in Sittwe and 1.19 inches each in Myeik and Kyeikmayaw.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, (Northern and Southern)Shan  States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
