SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah, Chin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mon State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago Regions and Kayin, Rakhine, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.70 inches in Hkamti, 3.01 inches in Tachileik, 2.40 inches in Dawei, 1.69 inches in Minesat, 1.61 inches in Kungyangon, 1.42 inches each in Hlegu and Myanaung, 1.38 inches in Paungbyin, 1.22 inches in Sittwe and 0.86 inch in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri).

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern) States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
