SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.50 inches in Dawei, 2.76 inches in Myiek, 2.48 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.20 inches each in Homalin and Labutta, 1.81 inches in Paungbyin, 1.57 inches each in Tharrawady and Ye, 1.25 inches in Kawthaung and 1.10 inches each in Okkan, Patheingyi(Shwesayan) and Kanbalu.

BAYINFERENCE:  According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely  to further intensify during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it  is likely  to move  west-northwestwards and cross Odisha, India, during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
