28-11-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast has moved North- Northwestwards and is crossing near Trincomalee(Srilanka). It is centered at about 805 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 225 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry (India). It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and across eastern parts of Sri Lanka Coast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and reach over the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India.  Weather is a generally fair over the North Bay, partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been generally fair in Rakhine, Northern Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 3°C below November average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region, 2°C below November average temperatures in Bago Region and Kayah State, 4°C above November average temperature in Rakhine State and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 6.5°C in Hakha, 7.4°C in Loilin, 7.5°C in Tiddim, 9.0°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 10.0°C each in Homalin and Heho, 10.5°C in Putao, 11.1°C in Taunggyi, 11.6°C in Lashio and 11.8°C in Pinlaung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours. Weather a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th November 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair in Lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
