SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Kayin State and isolated in Yangon Region and Mon, Eastern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below February average temperatures in Kachin, Chin States and 2°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Kayah, Kayin States, 3°C above February average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State, 5°C above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 1.3°C in Hakha, 6.0°C in Mongyang, 7.0°C in Heho, 7.2°C in Tiddim, 7.8°C each in Lashio and Loilin, 8.0°C in Hsipaw, 8.6°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 8.9°C in Putao, 9.5°C in Machanbaw and 10.0°C in Mohnyin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.59 inch in Mawlamyine, 0.47 inch in Mudon, 0.35 inch in Myeik, 0.16 inch in Dawei, 0.12 inch each in Kawthaung and Hpa-an(Agro-Met) and 0.08 inch in Hpa-an.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West–Northwestwards towards Sri Lanka during next 24 hours. Weather is partlyc cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th February 2026: Fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region, scattered rain or thundershowers in Kayin, Mon States and isolated rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
