28-5-2024:According to the observations at (06:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression has crossed to the Northwest of Dhaka(Bangladesh) and moved North-Northeastwards and weaken into a Land Depression. It is forecast to move East-Northeastwards and weaken into a Low Pressure Area during next (6)hrs. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Belin (10.00)inches, Kamamaung (6.89)inches, Theinzayet (6.77)inches, Shwegwun (6.72)inches, Hpapun (5.76)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (5.69)inches,  Hpa-an (5.20)inches, Zaung Tu (4.49)inches, Ann (4.02)inches, Sittwe and Paung (3.94)inches each, Kawkareik (3.66)inches, Hlaingbwe (3.43)inches, Myawaddy (3.31)inches and Taungkok (3.23)inches.  

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 -10)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
