SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Whole Myanmar, and West Central and North Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Kayin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago and Yangon Regions, (Southern & Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States, isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myitkyina (2.99)inches, Thabeikkyin (1.69)inches, Pinlaung (1.34)inches, Paingkyone (1.30)inches, Thaton (1.26)inches, and Kalaywa (1.18)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Eastern & Southern)Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions.
