26-11-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” over the Strait of Malacca and adjoining Northeast Indonesia has moved West-Southwestwards and start to cross coastal areas of Indonesia. It is centered at about 305Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 155 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 45 Nautical miles East of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  395 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India). According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Southeast Sri Lanka still persists. It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and further intensify into a depression during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan State, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region and Mon State. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May normal temperatures in Bago Region, Shan, Kayah and Mon States, (2°C) above May normal temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States, (3°C) below May normal temperature in Chin State and about May normal temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Kyemone, Chauk, Pauk, Taunggu and Bawlakhae and (41°C) in Myinmu. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (3.54)inches,  Putao (2.04) inches, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (2.01)inches, Yangon (North Dagon) (1.89) inches, Chaungsone (1.77) inches and Yeu (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Assam (India) has become unimportant. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th May, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of rain or thundershower in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
