It is likely continue to move Eastwards and gradually weaken during next 12 hours. According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DATWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast has moved Northwestwards and is crossing near Tricomalee(Srilanka). It is centered at about 805 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry (India). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and continue to cross eastern part of Sri Lanka Coast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and reached over the North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India.Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL  ‌AFTERNOON OF THE 9th June, 2019:  Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 -6)feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
