SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine and Kyeikmayaw (5.63)inches each, Launglon (5.20)inches, Paung (5.12)inches, Central Yangon (4.17)inches, Okkan (3.94)inches, Mudon (3.70)inches, Dawei (3.54)inches, Khayan (3.15)inches, Yay and Chaungsone (3.11)inches each, Hpa-an(Agro-met) (2.95) inches and Kyeikkhame (2.80)inches.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9– 12)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
