2-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 80 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to recurve slowly Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Depression during next 12 hrs.Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Magway Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myeik (3.54)inches, Paung (3.43)inches, Nyaunglaybin (2.76)inches, Kunlong (2.24)inches, Belin (2.20)inches, Payathonsu and Dawei (2.17) inches each, Bhamo (1.97) inches, Machanbaw (1.89)inches, Pyinoolwin (1.84)inches, Puato (1.65)inches, Kamamaung (1.52)inches and Loikaw  (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 – 9) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago Region, Kayin and Mon States.
