SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Kachin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, Southern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kya-Inn-Seikkyi (6.92)inches, Dawei (5.98)inches, Mudon (5.35)inches, Thandwe (5.24)inches, Launglon (5.20)inches, Kyaukpyu (4.96)inches, Kyeikkhame (4.92)inches, Kyeikmayaw (4.41)inches, Yay (4.06)inches, Kyeikdon (3.94) inches, Coco Island (3.78)inches, Chaungsone (3.70)inches and Shan-Ywar-Thit (3.15)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago and Yangon Regions. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 – 9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
