2-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 80 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to recurve slowly Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Depression during next 12 hrs.Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Magway Region and isolated heavyfall in Rakhine State. The noteworthy  amount of rainfall recorded were Myauk U (3.19)inches, Katha and Kawthaung (2.05)inches each, Myeik (2.01)inches, Taungdwingyi  and Okkan (1.77)inches each, Minbu (1.50)inches, Nyaung Shwe (1.30)inches, Hmawbi (1.26)inches, Paing Kyone (1.22)inches and  Kungyangon (1.18)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about ( 5– 8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
