SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated heavyfall in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myitkyina (7.32) inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (5.44)inches, Mudon (4.96)inches, Dawei (4.18)inches, Paing Kyone (4.14)inches, Taungkok (3.43)inches, Thandwe (3.27)inches, Kamamaung (3.15)inches, Kawthaung (2.71)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.64)inches, Thaton (2.60)inches, Mindat, Kyeikkhame and Chaungsone (2.44)inches each and Kya-In-Seikkyi (2.36)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd September, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 –13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
