SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kamamaung (6.71)inches, Paung (5.63)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (5.59)inches, Kawkareik (4.25)inches, Taungkok (4.13)inches, Okkan (3.94)inches, Paing Kyone (3.90)inches, Thandwe (3.77)inches, Hpa-an (Agro-Met) (3.70)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.50)inches, Phyu, Mudon and Chaungsone (3.39)inches each, Hpa-an (Met & Hydro) (3.34)inches, Ngathaichaung (3.31)inches, Hlaingbwe (3.27)inches, Shwegwin (3.24)inches, Labutta (3.19)inches, Mawlamyine (3.15) inches, Saw (1.66)inches and Htilin (1.54)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northweast Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal Coasts (india) still persists. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURE CONDITION: According to the observation (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the tropical storm “Kajiki” has crossed over the Vietnam coast and then recurved East-Southeast to reach over South China Sea. It is centered at about (55)miles Northeast of Da Nang (Vietnam) and forecast to move East-Northeastwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 04th September, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 –13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
