SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeryarwady Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyaukphyu (4.60)inches, Hlaingbwe (4.07)inches, Phyarpon (3.94)inches, Sittwe (3.89)inches, Taungkok (3.46)inches, Kyauktaw (3.39)inches, Thandaunggyi (2.99)inches, Kamamaung (2.95)inches, Ann (2.91)inches, Paing Kyone (2.80)inches and Maungdaw (2.60)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th September, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 12)feet off and along Rakhine Coast and about (6 –8)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States.
