SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan, Chin and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (2.88)inches, Launglon (2.28)inches, Taungoo (Aviation-Met) (2.12)inches, Hkamti (1.65)inches, Payathonsu and Thaton (1.46)inches each, Kyaukpadaung (1.44)inches, Myit Sone (1.42)inches, Pauk (1.41) inches, Pakokku (1.37)inches, Ramthlo (1.22)inches and Khayan (1.18)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8–10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about ( 4–6) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from Northern Myanmar areas.
