SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Kachin State and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above March average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State, 2°C above March average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and 2°C below March average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 45°C in Chauk and 43°C each in Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Sinbyugyun. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.79 inch in Machanbaw, 0.63 inch in Tongzan, 0.55 inch in Putao, 0.51 inch in Tiddim, 0.43 inch in Tamu, 0.28 inch in Hakha and 0.20 inch each in Falam and Mawlaik.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be generally fair in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions.
