SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Yangon, Bago Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.82 inches in Kawthaung, 1.77 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 1.57 inches each in Yangon(Kaba-Aye) and Kyeikmayaw, 1.54 inches in Ngathaichaung, 1.18 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 1.10 inches in Hpa-an, 1.02 inches in Loikaw, 0.88 inch in Thabaung and 0.83 inch each in Hainggyigyun and Mongyang.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (6-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States.
