SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.33 inches in Paungbyin, 3.83 inches in Homalin, 2.24 inches in Hainggyigyun, 1.73 inches in Heho, 1.62 inches in Kawthaung, 1.58 inches in Wakema, 1.54 inches in Myaungmya, 1.38 inches in Maubin, 1.30 inches each in Coco Island and Kyaukpyu and 1.14 inches in Labutta.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increases of rain in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
