SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway and Upper Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.92 inches in Kyeikkhame, 4.53 inches in Mawlamyine, 3.90 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.80 inches in Thabaung, 3.39 inches in Paung, 3.35 inches each in Okkan and Mudon, 3.01 inches in Ming Ping,  2.99 inches in Labutta, 2.87 inches in Chaungsone and 2.83 inches each in Kyonepyaw and Belin.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over Laos has moved westwards, downgraded into a Low Pressure Cell and still persists in the border areas of Laos and Eastern Myanmar. It is likely continue to move westwards and due to it’s influence, heavy rain with strong wind will be in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States from this afternoon to 25-7-2025.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 45 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershowers with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States.
