SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.00 inches in Paing Kyone, 2.09 inches in Hkamti, 2.05 inches in Hainggyigyun, 1.97 inches each in Homalin and Sittwe, 1.81 inches in Hmawbi(Agro- Met), 1.78 inches in Kawthaung, 1.70 inches in Mongpan, 1.26 inches in Phyarpon, 1.22 inches in Mogaung and 1.20 inches in Shwegwin.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm(NONGFA) over the South China Sea has moved westwards. It is centered at about 70 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Vinh, 150 Nautical miles North-Northeast of Da Nang (Vietnam).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Regionally and Isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
