BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm (PHETHAI) over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and is centered at about (140)miles Northeast of Chennai (India), about (115) miles Southeast of Machilipatnam and about (145) miles South of Kakinada. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17th December, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States.
