18-11-2025:  According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours. Weather a few cloud over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were   (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Southern and Eastern)Shan and Mon States, (6°C) above January average temperature in Kayin State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (2°C) in Putao, (4°C) each in Thipaw, Heho, Tiddim and Tongzan and (6°C) each in Machanbaw and Ramthlo. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (0.71)inch and Myeik (0.35)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm "Pabuk" over the Andaman Sea is centred at about (170) miles South-Southwest of Coco Island,  (290) miles South-Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar) and (25) miles Southeast of Port Blair (India).Weather is a few cloud over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th January, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Kayin and Mon States and isolated in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Southern and Eastern)Shan and Kayah States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be generally fair in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
