1-12-2025: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts almost stationary and it is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 75 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to move nearly Northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts(India) and gradually weaken into a Depression during next 12 hrs. Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing  Region, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfall in Magway and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (9.29)inches, Kyeikdone (7.71)inches, Paing Kyone (6.61) inches, Hlaingbwe (5.67)inches, Shwegwin (5.52)inches, Madaya(Agro-met) (5.39)inches, Kyeikmayaw (5.20) inches, Coco-Island and Mawlamyine (4.72)inches each, Kya-In-SeikKyi (4.60)inches, Kawkareik and Mudon (4.21)inches each, Launglon (3.90) inches, Yay (3.82)inches, Ye U (3.74)inches, Shwekyin (3.70)inches, Dawei (3.50)inches, Kamamaung (3.39)inches, Hap-an (Agro-met) (3.31)inches, Sagaing (3.08)inches, Amarapura(Agro-met)(2.90)inches, Monywa (2.60) inches, Mandalay (1.89) inches, Kyaukse (1.61)inches, Saw (1.54)inches and Natogyi (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 –12) feet in Deltaci, Gulf of Mottama, off and along  Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 – 8) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
