27-10-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and still persists. It is centered at about 530 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles East of Chennai(India), 260 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm on 28-10-2025 and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night.Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northern Myanmar areas, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin and (Northern and Eastern)  Shan States,  rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Southern Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago and Yangon Regions and Mon State, and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (6.18)inches, Yangon (North Dagon) (6.10)inches, Kyeikkhame (5.87)inches, Paung (5.31)inches, Kyeikmayaw (5.22)inches,  Zaung Tu and Hmawbi (4.21)inches each,  Chaungsone (4.09)inches, Thaton (3.93)inches, Bago (3.78)inches, Yangon (Kabaaye) (3.62)inches, Mudon (3.54)inches and Okkapho (3.01) inches.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper  Sagaing Region, Kachin and  (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Regions, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States.
