Storm Warning

          According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over East Central Bay and adjoining over Southeast Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary. It is centered at about (200)miles West of Coco-Island (Myanmar). (330)miles West-Southwest of  Pathein (Myanmar), (400) miles West-Southwest of Yangon(Myanmar) and (220) miles West- Northwest of Portblair(India). It is forecast to move to East-Northeast wards and further intiensify into a cyclonic storm during next (48)hrs.

It is moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded orange stage.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

          Depression is located at Latitude (13.9) degree North and Longitude (89.8) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (35)miles per hour at (05:30) hrs MST today.

Forecast for next (48) hours

          It is forecast to further intensify into a cyclonic storm and reach near Myanmar coasts.

 General caution

Under the influence of the depression rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthyi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States during 23th October to 25th October, 2016.

          Squalls with rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts are advised to avert in condition of depression.
