27-10-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and intensified into the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 485 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 310 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India), 350 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify Severe Cyclonic Storm may form on 28-10-2025 and may cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and North Bay, Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, isolated in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kachin, Kayah and Mon States, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin and Kayin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) above November average temperature in Eastern Shan and Mon States and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (4°C) in Loilin, (6°C) in Hakha, (8°C) each in Namsam and Heho, (9°C) each in Putao, Pinlaung and Naungcho. The noteworthy amounts of rainfalls recorded were Kalaywa (0.20)inch and Kengtung (0.16)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Southe‌ast Bay of Bengal and  adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean. It may further intensify into a depression during next (48) hours. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th November, 2016: weather will be partly cloudy to Cloudy in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State and likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered light rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Kayah States.
