27-10-2025:According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwest and reached over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 515 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 260 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India), 305 Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify Severe Cyclonic Storm may form on 28-10-2025 and may cross Andhra Pradesh Coast on that night. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been isolated in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, weather has been partly cloudy to cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Bago Region, Rakhine, Kayah,  Kayin and Mon States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (5°C) in Putao. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was Coco Island  (0.47) inch.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Cyclonic storm “VARDAH”. It is centered at about (560)miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam (India), (610)miles East-Southeast of Machilipatnam, (135)miles West of Port Blair (India) and (230)miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar). It is forecast to move Northwest wards.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th December, 2016: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface winds speed in easterly winds may reach (35)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
