 According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm (Gaja) over Southwest Bay has moved West-Southwestwards. It is centered at about (145)miles Southeast of Chennai(India) and about (100)miles East-Northeast of  Nagapattinam(India).
It is not moving towards Myanmar Coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.

    Severe Cyclonic Storm is located at Latitude (11.0) degree North and Longitude (81.5) degree East, centre pressure of Severe Cyclonic Storm is (995)hPa and maximum wind speed near the centre is (55-60) miles per hour at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today.

During next (12)hrs Forecast

    It is expected to move West-Southwestwards and cross Tamil Nadu Coast between Pamban and Cuddalore during next (12)hours.

    Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm, rain or thundershowers will be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States within next (24) hours commencing today afternoon.

Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
