According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, yesterday’s night the Typhoon “MATMO” has crossed Gulf of Tonkin, moved West-Northwestwards and downgraded into a Severe Tropical Storm crossing Coastal areas of Guangxi, Southern China.

It is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and downgrade into a Tropical Storm during next 9 hours and may continue to cross the interior part of Guangxi, Southern China and boundary areas of Northern Vietnam. Thereafter, it may cross the boundary areas of Northern Vietnam and downgrade into a Land Depression over Yunnan, China during next 24 hours.
