Late Monsoon Period Forecast

Late Monsoon period is a period starting from 1st September to the date of Monsoon withdrawal from the whole country.

Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon

Southwest monsoon is likely to withdrawal from:

  1. Northern Myanmar areas during (16-21) of September
  2. Central Myanmar areas during (22-27) of September
  3. Deltaic areas during 28th September to 3rd October
  4. The whole country during (4-9) of October

Bay of Bengal condition

Three low pressure areas may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and two may further intensify into depressions.  Monsoon will be weak to moderate in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall condition

Rain or thundershowers will be expected below normal in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and about normal rain in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
