Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Early Monsoon Period

The early monsoon period is establishment of Southwest Monsoon over Myanmar to the end of June.

Onset of Southwest Monsoon

          Southwest monsoon is likely to set in:

  1. Southern Myanmar  Areas during (8-13) of May
  2. Deltaic Areas during (14-20) of May
  3. Central Myanmar Areas during (21 – 26) of May
  4. Northern Myanmar Areas during (27 May - 4 ) of June

Bay of Bengal Condition

Three low pressure areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and two may further intensify into the Depression. During the early monsoon period, monsoon will be moderate.

Rain Condition

Rain or thundershower will be expected about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
