4-9-2025::  According to the observations at 05:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the northwest Bay of Bengal off North Odisha coast has moved west-northwestwards over the North Odisha coast. It is likely continued to move west-northwestwards and cross North Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh, India and gradually weakened during next 24 hrs.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

27th National Monsoon Forum (Online Video Conferencing)

The opening ceremony of 27th Monsoon Forum 2021, Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) was held this morning by video conferencing. In the opening ceremony, Dr. Kyaw Moe Oo, Director General of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology delivered the Opening remark.

Representative from Departments under the Ministry of Transport and Communications, departmental representatives in disaster management and other related departments; a total of about 50 participants were attended video conferencing.

The Workshop is focused on the reviewing the 2021 Southwest Monsoon season, presenting and discussing on seasonal outlook of Weather Forecast and Water Level Forecast for the Winter Season (December 2021 - February 2022 ), Condition of Agro meteorology, Condition of La Nina during Winter Season, discussing sectorial lessons learned during the Southwest Monsoon Season based on historical data and observed conditions and detailed discussions on sectorial preparedness using the forecasts for the 2021-2022 winter season.

The monsoon forum has been held twice annually on regular basic starting from 2007 and the current forum is the 27th of the Forum.
